Los Mezcales Mexican Grill & Cantina - Authentic Mexican Flavors & Vibrant Cantina Experience in St. James, MO

What a fantastic experience! It's definitely worth the stop! Jorge Meza & Julieta Yepez have really added a jewel to St. James. The staff was nonstop our entire visit, in the greatest way possible! This restaurant is a step above your, average Mexican Restauran, even for a big city, let alone a small town!

Good food! The service was good. Great margaritas. We were with a group of 6 and they were able to seat us right away. We had a great time. I highly recommend this place!

Great atmosphere, food and while they were super busy because of a festival going on and not enough staff to cover it, I would most definitely be back. Staff was hustling as fast as they could. The menu has more than just the standard fare you typically see at Mexican Restaurants.

This place is so great and only one minute from our house - thank goodness!! Some of the best Mexican food I've had, with servers who are always kind and do their best to make the customers happy. Not only that, but it's so gorgeous with a relaxing atmosphere. We've been at least 3 times, and have had their carry out option, and it has always been impeccable! The first time we went, they were still pretty new and we waited quite some time for our food and the last two times, our food came out within 10 minutes! I've worked/managed/served in multiple places, and to have minimal to no issues with the order (nobody is perfect all the time), hot & fresh, and super fast - that is just a well working crew! Plus the margaritas are killer I really hope they stay around for a long time!

Food (and atmosphere) outstanding!! We ordered the Los Mezcales dip and it had delicious flavor but would request the veggies to be chopped next time (was hard to eat with the chips). I ordered the Quesadilla Gringa and the picture doesn’t do it justice…explosion of flavors! Husband had the Burrito Mezcal and both size and flavor were impressive!! Horchata drink was delicious and went well with the Fried Ice Cream that was creatively plated (a true work of art!) We’ve been to the majority of the Mexican restaurants between Rolla and StLouis and can’t wait to go back to this one!

MUST VISIT HERE! I just want to start by saying I’m jealous this location isn’t in my hometown! We visited Saint James for the first time and day 1 we had to find something good to eat. We are bias because we love Mexican food but because of that, we have pretty reasonable expectations for our cuisine. Los Mezcales was beyond those expectations! We loved it so much, we took our family there the next day! We tried the queso, guac, various tacos, pollo Chapala, quesadilla, taquitos, the garlic shrimp, and a couple kids meals. The queso and bean dip was delicious! I’m a cheese snob and it was sooooo good! The chicken dishes were so moist and the shrimp was cooked perfectly!! The chips were fresh, the drinks were strong, and they surprised me with their side salad. I personally do not mix fruits into my veggies or proteins. When they brought out the side salad with my garlic shrimp, it had blueberries and strawberries in it! I was really surprised but didn’t want to waste it so I went for it. Boy am I glad I did!! It was a delicious combo together!!!!! Now, I’m not about to start mixing at home but this was soooo good! The decor and cleanliness of the restaurant was really nice! The bathrooms were nice and clean too!! If you’re in town, you have to stop by!

Excellent. Excellent chips & salsa. Excellent shrimp, steak, & chicken. Hot food & hot tortillas Absolutely wonderful service. We where a large group of twelve from the S&T Graduation. Our table was reserved and ready when we arrived. Thank you for taking such good care of our family event.
